Briagolong derives its name from the Briakalung clan of Kúrnai nestled at the foothills of the Great Divide, a perfect stop for a weekend leisurely drive, or for a longer visit. 30 mins from Sale, 15 mins north of Stratford or 20 mins north-east of Maffra.

Briagolong is easy to find and hard to leave. The town is an ideal stop on the road to Dargo. The scenic route along Beverley Rd is now sealed considerably reducing travel time to Dargo.

There is something of interest for everyone visiting Briagolong, from shops offering collectables, antiques, toys, craft supplies, jewellery and glass art and gifts as well as lollies, a bamboo nursery, hairdresser, fuel and general groceries and food and drinks - both takeaway and eat in.
