River Heritage & Wetlands Trail
The River Heritage & Wetlands Trail offers a short walk from the Port of Sale along the historic Sale Canal to the Sale Common Wetlands.
The trail is marked with interpretive panels at heritage locations describing the flora, fauna and maritime history of the Sale Port area and nearby Sale Wetlands.
The trail walk includes the option to continue through the trails within the Sale Common Wetlands to the historic "Swing Bridge".
The return journey can incorporate Sale's Lake Guthridge and Lake Guyatt as well as the historic Sale Powder Magazine.
Directions: Join the trail at the Port of Sale. Trail length approx 2km to McArdles gap, 7km Lake Guthridge/Guyatt, 13km Swing Bridge. No dogs are permitted in the Sale Common Wetlands.
