Located just over two hours east of Melbourne, Wellington Shire in the heart of Gippsland is the third largest municipality in Victoria. With an area of over 11000 square kilometres, Wellington Shire hosts some of Victoria’s greatest natural beauty alongside a booming industrial and agricultural industry.

The Wellington Shire is a key agricultural producer, with fertile soils, abundant water for irrigation and established transport links to markets. It is home to major industries in diverse fields such as aviation, oil and gas, agriculture, forestry and professional services.

The diversity of the Wellington Shire is astounding. Covering an expanse that reaches from the rugged high country to one of the longest beaches in the World, the region has a staggering array of landscapes.  Also including the Gippsland Lakes and numerous other National Parks, the Wellington Shire has a bounty of wildlife, historical attractions, unique wilderness and fine food and wine.

The shire has a residential population of over 40000, situated mainly in the larger towns of Sale, Maffra, Heyfield, Rosedale, Stratford and Yarram. It offers access to a multitude of diverse landscapes and caters for a wide range of recreational and leisure interests.
